Manchester City FC
Founded in 1880 as St. Mark’s (West Gorton), the club became Manchester City in 1894 and played at Maine Road for 80 years before moving to Manchester’s Sportcity complex.
Historically the club’s most successful period was in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In 2008, the club was purchased by Abu Dhabi United Group and – following significant investment in players, management and facilities – the club has risen to become a major force in both English and European football.
In 2011, Manchester City qualified for the Champions League and won the FA Cup. In 2012, the club won the Premier League with a last-minute goal beating rivals Manchester United to the title on goal difference and ending their 44-year wait for the English football championship.
Etihad Stadium – formerly the City of Manchester Stadium – is the home ground of Manchester City FC, the fifth-largest stadium in the Premier League and the twelfth-largest in the UK, with a seating capacity of 47,805.
Originally opened in 2002 as host stadium the Commonwealth Games that year, the stadium was reconfigured and capacity enlarged before Manchester City FC moved from its historic Maine Road to this new stadium in 2003.

The Centre For Access To Football In Europe (CAFE), established in 2009, is a European wide charity with a purpose to achieve equal access to football.
Using the special influence of football, CAFE aims to ensure that many more disabled people can enjoy a football match as an inclusive fan experience and because football embraces diversity in all its forms, to raise disability awareness and the importance of good access more widely throughout the wider UEFA region.
